Banky W turned 34 years old today people! Blow the sirens!!!
Olubankole Wellington better known as Banky W was born on March 27th, 1981 to Nigerian parents in the United States. He moved back to Nigeria with his parents at the age of 5 but returned to further his education in New York where he bagged a college degree in Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Banky is the co-owner of Empire Mates Entertainment, the record label under which he churned out one EP and four chart topping albums.
Mr Capable, as he is fondly called is an R&B artiste par excellence. His unique silky voice has endeared him to numerous fans locally and internationally.
Banky has also mentored a younger generation of artistes who he nurtured to develop their own distinct sound and appeal. Big names like Wizkid, Skales, Shaydee and Niyola would not have achieved this much recognition today if not for Mr W who found something worth nurturing in them.
