A happy moment it was, or it should have been for Portuguese
international and Ballon D’or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid
forward scored his 300th in a Real shirt yesterday, when Madrid
thrashed Rayo Vallecano 2-0. He did this on the back of a five goal
thriller against Granada.
This feat has seen him edge towards the club’s all-time scorers, Raul (328) and Alfredo Di Stefano (308).
His happy moment was soured when he was unjustly given a yellow card
and denied a penalty, for allegedly diving. A yellow card that would see
him miss the next match against Eibar. This is the least of his
problems though as Ronaldo known for his constant defiance and rude
gestures, made just another one that could see him earn a suspension.
Let’s not forget that it is this same Ronaldo who grabbed his
genitals when challenging referee Antonio Lahoz in the recent el clasico
clash. The Madrid man lucky to escape without punishment and a second
yellow which would have resulted on a red card.
Neither should we forget his calm down gesture at the Barcelona fans when he scored at the camp Nou, in the same Clasico clash.
He had previously caused controversy after he was sent off at Cordoba
in January by cleaning off the World Club Cup badge on his shirt as he
left the pitch.
He must be going through a mid life crisis, no one person wants attention this much.
His “robbery” gesture during the Rayo Vallecano match, could see him
face suspension in investigated by the Competition Committee this week.
If only Ronaldo has not made this controversial gesture, something he
gets into the news for the most time these days, his performance would
have been purely exquisite, he just had to soil it. He opened the
scoring and supplied James Rodriguez with his goal.
Come on Ronaldo be reasonable, you can’t win a fourth ballon d’or with this smelling attitude.
